What is the YES Scholarship?

Foster Village wants to help you say "YES!" and help financially with extracurricular physical activities! We are the recipient of a Douglas County LIVEWELL grant to help us provide scholarship funds for extracurricular activities! As well, we are expanding the program for 2026 and providing scholarships to all of the 7 counties we serve.

Who is eligible for the scholarship?

The scholarship funds are to be used for ACTIVE extracurricular activities (i.e. dance, martial arts, sport teams, gymnastics, etc) by children in one of the 7 counties we serve (Douglas, Shawnee, Osage, Franklin, Jackson, Jefferson and Leavenworth). The scholarships are for ANY children (foster, biological, previously adopted, kinship) in a CURRENTLY licensed foster home or CURRENT kinship placement and ages 3-18 years old Scholarships will be awarded for one event per 2026 year.

What types of activities are covered?

The scholarship can be used for active extracurricular activities, such as dance, martial arts, sports teams, gymnastics, swim lessons, etc.

How are payments made?

Payment will be provided directly to the facility hosting the activity, after all other financial assistance options have been exhausted.
