Sleep challenges are incredibly common for children who have experienced trauma, transitions, or loss. They can take a real toll on caregivers, too.

Through Foster Village Northeast KS, foster and kinship families can access to trauma-informed sleep education and consultation designed specifically for the realities of foster and kinship care.

This support is offered in partnership with Allison Ezell, a Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant with Dwell Pediatric Sleep, who brings both professional expertise and lived experience as a foster and adoptive parent. Allison works with families through a trauma-informed lens, helping caregivers understand the why behind sleep struggles and develop realistic, compassionate plans that prioritize felt safety, trust, and attachment.

What to expect:

Sleep support looks different for everyone. Our goal is to help each family access the right level of support at the right time.

Depending on your needs, support may include:

  • Trauma-informed sleep education and learning resources
  • Individualized sleep consultation with short-term support

This support is educational and consultative in nature. It is not therapy.

Who can participate:

This support is available to kinship and licensed foster caregivers in Northeast KS.

There is a fee associated for the consultation services for licensed families, but there is grant funding to cover the cost for kinship families.

How to get started:

To help us best support your family, caregivers interested in sleep support should begin by completing a brief intake form.

Fill out THIS FORM and Amy Bowling our Resource Family Advocate will review your responses and follow up to help determine the most appropriate next steps, which may include education, resources, or consultation support through Allison.
