Support Groups

Your role is unique and often difficult.  But you don't have to do it alone. Our monthly gatherings are a time for foster, kinship, and adoptive caregivers to connect and decompress.

Moms Support Groups (for foster, adoptive and kinship caregivers)

Topeka-

NEW- start 9/6- 1st Sunday of the month 2-4pm- Common Grounds Support Group- Topeka (Coffee Bar 1635 SW Washburn Ave.)  Join other foster, adoptive, and kinship moms for kid-free time with other moms who get it. Amy Bowling will be there to facilitate connection,  support, and discussion.

3rd Monday of the month 6-8pm - (childcare available) Topeka (First Southern Church 1912 Gage Blvd) curriculum based (Foster the Family) support groups with a strong emphasis on discussion and mutual support.

Lawrence-

2nd Monday of the month 6-8pm- (childcare available) Lawrence (Connect Church 3351 W 31st St.) curriculum based (Foster the Family) support groups with a strong emphasis on discussion and mutual support. **** on Mon, Sept 14 | 6-8pm only NEW location: Deerfield Neighborhood, contact Amy Bowling for the address. No childcare for the month of Septemeber only. 

NEW- start 9/27- 4th Sunday of the month 2-4pm- Common Grounds Supporrt Group- Lawrence (Uplift Coffee 945 Massachusetts St.) Join other foster, adoptive, and kinship moms for kid-free time with other moms who get it. Amy Bowling will be there to facilitate connection, support, and discussion.

 

Kinship Caregivers Support Group: (for female caregivers, mothers, grandmothers, aunts, family friends, etc.)

4th Monday of the month from 6-8pm at Fellowship Hi-Crest (455 SE Golf Park Blvd, Topeka, KS 66605) curriculum based support groups with a strong emphasis on disussion and mutual support.

 

Adoptive Caregivers Support Group (for caregivers who have adopted, gained guardianship through foster care, or foster parents navigating the journey toward adoption (post-TPR) NEW start 9/7- 1st Monday of the month 8:30-9:30pm (virtual)  REGISTER HERE

 

Dads Support Groups for foster, adoptive and kinship caregivers

1st Tuesday of the month from 7:30-9:30p at the Lawrence Beer Company (826 Pennsylvania St, Lawrence, KS 66044) This is a safe space for dads to meet, eat, and share with those that get it. Foster, kinship, and adoptive dads are welcome!
