New Partnership Brings Greater Access to Mental Health Support for Foster Families
We’re thrilled to announce a new partnership with Bluestem Wellness, a newly opened mental health clinic located at 534 Michigan Street in Lawrence, KS. This collaboration will help our local foster, kinship, adoptive and reunifying families access support more quickly.
Accessing counseling shouldn’t mean waiting months for an appointment, especially when a child or family is in crisis. Thanks to our new referral partnership with Bluestem Wellness, families connected to Foster Village can now expect to see a provider within a month or less. In the counseling world, that kind of turnaround is hard to come by and we’re grateful to make it possible for our community.
Through this partnership, Bluestem Wellness will provide mental health services for:
- Children and teens ages 3-18
- Foster, kinship, adoptive or biological children
- Foster and kinship parents
Their team offers both counseling and psychiatric care, including medication management, all under one roof. They accept most private insurance and state Medicaid plans (like KanCare), helping ease the financial burden for families seeking support.
