At Foster Village Northeast Kansas, we believe that when a child enters foster care, the whole community has a role to play.

That's why every July, we invite our community to turn life’s lemons into lemonade through our annual Growing the Village Is Sweet fundraiser.

This month, caregivers, kids, volunteers, churches, businesses, and supporters across Northeast Kansas are coming together to raise both funds AND awareness for children and families connected to foster care.

The money raised helps Foster Village provide practical support, meaningful connection, and specialized resources for foster, kinship, adoptive, and reunifying families across the seven counties we serve here in Northeast KS.

Plan Your Participation

There are lots of great ways to get involved this July! 

1. Make a donation online. Every gift helps strengthen the village. Give on our website here (select “Lemonade Stand Fundraiser”) or on Venmo @FosterVillageNEKS donations (comment “lemonade”).
    
2. Shop local and give back. When you shop with one of these 16 local businesses and purchase their lemon-themed products, you’re helping support Foster Village! (See more below.)
    
3. Visit a neighborhood lemonade stand. Families and kids across Northeast Kansas will be hosting lemonade stands all month long. Stop by for a cup of lemonade and to learn more about foster care. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram throughout July to discover a lemonade stand near you.
    
4. Help spread the word. Snap a photo when you visit a lemonade stand or participating business and tag us on social media. We'll love seeing your support and may even share your post! (You can also join the fun by completing our Local Business BINGO Card).
    
5. Join us at The Last Drop Gala! We’ll wrap up the month with our first-ever gala event on July 31st. This special event will celebrate the impact of the lemonade campaign and help grow support for the local foster community. Tickets are almost gone, so grab yours today!
