
Lydia Fuqua
Board Member
Lydia Fuqua is the Director of Community Based Services at DCCCA, where she leads statewide efforts focused on suicide and substance use prevention and youth empowerment. With more than eight years of experience in suicide and substance use prevention, mental health promotion and community mobilization, she oversees the coordination of statewide coalitions, prevention initiatives, youth leadership and advocacy programs, and supportive services that help young people successfully transition into adulthood. Lydia is passionate about advancing accessible, sustainable, and systems-level approaches to well-being and is a certified trainer in Sources of Strength, Youth Mental Health First Aid, Adult Mental Health First Aid, Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR), and Counseling on Access to Lethal Means (CALM). As both a foster caregiver and adoptive mom, she brings professional expertise and lived experience to her work, championing opportunities for children, families, and communities to thrive.
